FAQS

+ Why Ethiopia and not here?

We believe God calls people from all over the world to different parts of the world. We were called to Ethiopia and this is where we will be until God says otherwise.

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8

+ Will I get updates?

Yes. You will be kept up-to-date at least twice a month and you can reach out as often as you like for more information.

+ Can I communicate with our kid?

Yes. Our current process allows you to send and receive letters at least once a year but we are working on a system to be able to communicate up to three times a year.

+ Can I mail gifts/money to the kid?

It is very expensive to send gifts in-country and the kids wouldn’t know what to do with it. The best way to stay in touch is through the letters we send. You can also bring gifts with you when you travel to see them.

+ What does the sponsorship per child cover?

The sponsorship covers the expenses of the house they live in, including the house mom, house aunt, food, clothing, and school.

+ Can I visit Ethiopia with your team?

We currently partner with HighRidge Church, taking two trips a year to visit B Loved in Ethiopia. We are working on future sponsorship specific trips.

+ How many in-country staff do you have?

Currently, we have a project director, nurse, social worker, 7 moms, 7 aunts, driver, 2 security guards, finance manager, and one head office in Soto. In Addis, there are three staff; a director, finance manager and trip coordinator.

+ How many local staff do you have?

There is no staff paid by B Loved Foundation. Our founders cover a marketing company and a number of volunteers oversee the US office.

+ What kind of kids do you take care of?

Double orphaned kids who have no surviving relatives that the government has deemed unadoptable.

+ Why can’t these kids be adopted?

Domestic adoption has only been around five years and most people want infants or babies under the age of 1 year. The government has stated any children over 2 years old are deemed unadoptable.

+ What are the ages of the kids you have?

Currently ages 4 to 17.

+ Where does the money I donate go?

All donations go to support the mission of providing homes to orphaned children in Ethiopia.

+ How can I give?

Computer, phone, check, and the best way is to set up recurring gifts via a credit card.

+ How often can I give?

You can do a recurring donation, a one-time donation or pick a sponsorship at a monthly level.

+ What are your long-term plans for the kids?

We want to provide a college education or vocational training so the children will be able to take care of themselves as well as make an impact in the world. They will always have the support of a family and community they can return to.

+ What separates you from other orphanages?

We aren’t an orphanage. We create families through small group homes with a mother and father figure. The kids stay in their community and with their created family with brothers and sisters.

+ What separates you from organizations like Compassion or World Vision?

All donations go to the kids. We are in one area of one country and we are making an impact in one kid at a time.

+ What are your biggest needs?

Our current goal is to build homes for all the kids. It costs 55K a house and as of April 2019, we need four more homes. This will allow us to bring in eight more kids who need a family.
