A New Beginning and Continued Growth at B Loved Ethiopia

We are excited to welcome a new child to our Bishoftu group home family. Bedasa Negassa, from Ambo City in the Oromia Region, joined us just two days before Ethiopian Christmas. He was able to celebrate the holiday surrounded by his new family which was a joyful and meaningful start to this new chapter.

All B Loved children are attending school, and many have completed their first semester exams. Through regular school visits, strong communication with teachers, and structured study time at home, we are seeing encouraging academic progress and positive behavioral growth. One newly enrolled boy in Bishoftu has also successfully begun school.

We are thankful to report strong improvements in the children’s health. This month recorded the lowest number of clinic visits, with only minor treatments needed. Bishoftu also established a medical partnership with Defense Specialized and Referral Hospital to ensure continued access to quality care.

Beyond meeting physical needs such as food, shelter, and clothing, our children receive consistent psychosocial support through counseling, discussions, and activities. They continue to thrive in safe, loving homes where staff provide unconditional care and guidance.

Our older youth participated in life skills training focused on academics and personal direction, while staff received additional training on understanding child trauma and practicing self-care, strengthening the overall support system around the children.

Construction continues on the Holistic Center in Bishoftu, including progress on a new dormitory.

Our dairy farms in Bishoftu and Sodo produced over 5,000 liters of milk this month, helping sustain the children and support operations.

Although market inflation remains a challenge, we are stewarding resources carefully to maintain stability and continue serving each child with excellence.
