End of Year Update: A Year of Growth, Care, and Hope

As we reflect on this past year, we are grateful for the continued faithfulness and growth of B Loved Ethiopia as we live out our mission: every child belongs to a family. Throughout the year, we provided holistic care to 89 children across our group homes in Wolaita Sodo, Addis Ababa, and Bishoftu meeting their educational, medical, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Education remained a central focus. Children consistently attended school with added tutoring and home-based study support, while many older students reached exciting milestones by advancing into university and college programs. We also welcomed new children into our Bishoftu program, ensuring they were enrolled in school and provided with the supplies and encouragement needed to thrive.

This year brought challenges, including health concerns and economic pressures, yet our teams responded with dedication and care. Children received ongoing medical attention, preventive health measures were strengthened, and daily needs such as food, clothing, and safe housing were faithfully provided. Spiritual growth was nurtured through regular church participation, home devotions, and meaningful celebrations of faith.

A significant highlight was the opening of a new boys’ group home in Bishoftu, creating a safe and loving environment for five vulnerable boys. We also deepened our partnerships within the local community through collaborative outreach efforts and compassionate service initiatives. Staff development remained a priority as team members participated in trainings that strengthened collaboration and sustainability.

Construction continued on the Bishoftu Children and Youth Empowerment Center, an important step toward long-term impact and self-sufficiency. Income-generating activities such as dairy and poultry farming supported both nutrition for the children and financial stability for the program.

As we close this year, we do so with gratitude, for the children whose lives are being transformed, for the staff and partners who serve with commitment, and for the supporters who make this work possible. We look ahead with hope, committed to deepening holistic care, strengthening education pathways, and continuing to build a future filled with opportunity and belonging.
