Leadership, Learning and Love
September 27, 2024
This month, all our children enjoyed their summer break, and we are gearing up for the 2024/2025 school year. Our kids are currently studying Bible stories from Genesis, and attending special prayer and fasting sessions at church. The staff and mothers also fervently prayed for the children.
Our older children, including Bisirat, Yonatan, Lakech, and Tesfanesh, were given responsibilities to help manage household tasks, care for younger siblings, and assist in summer camp activities. One of our girls, Lakech, found joy in teaching at the Full Gospel Church and was encouraged to take a larger role in ministry.
The children had opportunities to participate in a variety of summer camp activities, such as swimming, soccer, basketball, music, and computer skills development. Additionally, they received group and individual counseling, as well as life skills training to help them develop as individuals.
We were also pleased to admit three new children to B Loved Ethiopia after working closely with the Sodo Town Women and Children Affairs office and ensuring the necessary legal processes were completed.
Our Sodo center has begun producing vegetables, providing fresh produce like bananas and greens to the group homes. This is especially beneficial in combating rising food costs. Meanwhile, one of our Addis Ababa children, Bogalech Alemayehu, took part in a cooking class, enhancing her culinary skills.
Important Life skills training in Addis covered vital topics like social media influence, spirituality, individuality, and peer pressure, facilitated by esteemed trainers.
Our Bishoftu center hosted visits from the B Loved USA Foundation mission team, who engaged with our children through communication, Bible study, prayer sessions, and choir training.
Two of our Bishoftu children, Fraol and Habitamuw, began vocational training in cloth design. See photos below of what they made!
Despite market inflation challenges, we remain committed to providing comprehensive care and training to empower our children. We are excited to see the growth in our children as they continue to develop new skills and embrace their roles as stewards in their communities.
