Rooted in Love

August 1, 2026

It has been a full and meaningful season at B Loved Ethiopia, and we are so grateful to share some of the ways your support is making a difference!

Celebrating Our Students

Most of the B Loved children have completed their academic year, and we are especially proud of those who earned high marks and were recognized at their schools. Seven of our children also completed their Grade 12 National Examination which is a major milestone as they look toward their next chapter.

Beyond education, the everyday needs of our children continue to be met. Food, shelter, and clothing are provided regularly, and new clothing was recently purchased for all 31 children at the Bishoftu center.

❤️ Connection & Community

One of the sweetest parts of this season has been the time spent together. Volunteers visited the Bishoftu center to encourage and inspire the children, who were able to openly share their stories and express their gratitude for the impact B Loved has had on their lives.

We were also blessed to welcome a U.S. mission team for a special time of fellowship. Through games, activities, storytelling, and a documentary project featuring the stories of several children, the team and children shared laughter, encouragement, and meaningful moments together. These visits remind us that B Loved is about so much more than providing basic needs. It is about relationships, belonging, and knowing you are loved.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

On June 18, 2026, the Bishoftu Center was officially inaugurated! Government officials, community leaders, religious leaders, partners, donors, and supporters gathered to celebrate this important milestone and look toward the future of the children and families B Loved serves.

It was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared vision for the next generation.

🌱 Growing Food & Sustainability

The B Loved farms continue to play an important role in caring for the children and creating sustainable resources for the ministry.

The Bishoftu and Sodo dairy farms produced 4,849 liters of milk during the month. Some of the milk was provided directly to the children, while the remainder was sold at market to help support the ongoing work.

Fresh vegetables from the Bishoftu farm including beets, cabbage, carrots, and Swiss chard were also delivered weekly to the group homes.

In Sodo, the team has been preparing and planting new crops including taro, maize, and cabbage, with sweet potatoes next on the list. These crops will help provide nutritious food for the children while also producing supplemental feed for the dairy program.

Facing Challenges Together

Like many communities, B Loved continues to navigate challenges including limited water and electricity and ongoing inflation. The team has responded by carefully managing resources, finding alternative sources of water and power, and prioritizing the most essential needs.

Through every challenge, the work continues .... children are learning, growing, being cared for, and discovering that they are so loved.

Thank you for being part of the B Loved family. Your prayers, generosity, and encouragement help make all of this possible. We are so grateful to walk alongside these children and look forward to all that is ahead!
